Passing of Bruce Donald Cole Reg #2216
As with all our fan outs, the following is not to be posted on any Social Media Site. It contains personal information and a photograph belonging to the CPVA and the CPS. Thank you.
Sadly, I have learned that our friend and brother, Bruce Cole passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2024 while in hospice. Bruce was 67 years old. In 1999 Bruce was diagnosed with a brain tumor while still a serving member. Since then Bruce fought this progressive tumor for several years and eventually this disease robbed him of his mobility and has been in palliative care since November of last year.
Bruce joined CPS in 1979 and retired in 2008. Bruce fell in love and married Judy Cole (O’Byrne) who worked (and currently works) in CPIC. I spoke to Judy today and she is holding things together pretty well considering what she has been through at Bruce’s side. I know that she would love to hear from old friends and new veterans with words of support and kindness. If you would like to email her you can do so at: judy.cole@shaw.ca
A small family gathering at a later date will be planned. An obituary will be available soon and when it is published I will let you all know.
