Thank you.

Sadly I have learned that our good friend and brother, Gordie Scott passed away today, Tuesday October 29, 2024. Gord had been battling Parkinson’s Disease for quite some time and recently developed pneumonia. Gord was 87 years of age.

Gord joined CPS in 1956 at the age of 19, the youngest to had ever joined at that time. In 1968 Gord was promoted to the rank of Detective and was assigned to CID. He worked in the Traffic Section Hit and Run Unit, Fraud Detail and the Juvenile Squad. He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant and then one more time to Staff Sergeant before he retired in 1983. Gord was also famous for his hockey skills when playing for the CPS Hockey Team and later coaching the team.

After retiring, Gord joined the Calgary Police Veterans Association and served as Secretary Treasurer for 11 years and as President for 8 years, stepping down in 2008. He was pivotal in forming the success of what our Association is today.

Gord and his loving wife, Barb were married in 1959 and had 6 beautiful children. Gord leaves behind Barbara and children, Karyn, Jeff, Jennifer, Craig, Susie and Jason. Gord and Barb also have 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

When I learn about any services planned for Gord, I will pass that information on to you. In the meantime, if you would like to send Barb and their sons and daughters a message of support and condolence, please feel free to email Barb at:
