John Allen #1736 - Health Update

Hello everyone,
I had a conversation with our CPVA brother and friend, John Allen today. I called him because I had heard his health was not great and wanted to know if there was anything the CPVA could do to assist him. It turns out that John is still suffering from a serious bicycle collision he was involved in 2 years ago. Among other injuries, he sustained damage to one of his lungs. The lung injury continued to cause him grief and did not heal. As a result of countless medical tests, 5 weeks ago John received a diagnosis of lung cancer. How serious this is has not been determined.
John is in good spirits, but is confined to his home and has to use oxygen in order to assist in breathing. Those of you who know John, will recall that he is a very social guy and loves to visit. When I offered to send a fan out to the Vets, he thought that would be a terrific idea.
