James (Jim) Charles Lyall

Obituary

James Lyall (Jim) of Calgary, AB passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2022, at the age of 85 years.

Jim devoted his life to taking care of others. He started in the Navy at the age of seventeen, and eventually joined the Calgary Police and continued up the ranks to superintendent. During his time with the Calgary Police, he met the love of his life Doreen who sadly passed away in July 2000. He was lucky enough to retire early and enjoyed spending time with his family and travelling with Doreen. Over the years, he made lifelong friends through the police force, travelling, and his volunteer work. Jim was a selfless man who was always there through the good times and the bad times, a true friend to all.

He was loved by many and will be remembered for enhancing peoples lives.

Jim was predeceased by his wife Doreen; son Jim; and his son-in-law Brent.

Left to love and remember him always, his daughter Christie, daughter-in-law Mary; grandsons Jesse (Melissa), Joshua (Danielle), great-grandchildren Jordan and Madison; sister Bonnie (Norm), sister-in-law Norma; as well as all his nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
