Passing of Kenneth “Ken” Collier #1224

I have learned that our friend and brother, Ken Collier, passed away on November 1, 2025, at the age of 84. Ken had been battling cancer and was having age related issues that contributed to his death. Ken had been living in Red Deer County for a very long time. His loving wife, Joan passed away in 2010.
 
Ken’s service with CPS began in 1963. In those days, he started out “on patrol”, which is code for walking the beat just like everyone else. Then he transferred to the Traffic Division in 1966. He transferred to C.I.B. as a Detective Constable in 1970 and became a detective in 1974. Then he transferred to the newly formed Strike Force in 1976. After that he went to G.I.S. in A and B districts in 1978. Later that year he was assigned to C District. In 1980 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and transferred to the Ident Section and finally he was transferred to District 2 in 1986 where he retired in 1988.
 
I was able to contact Ken’s brother, Don Collier and he was very helpful in composing this tribute to Ken. Don is currently composing an obituary for Ken and later this week it will be available for viewing at: https://www.tributearchive.com/obituaries/46346954/kenneth-'ken'-james-collier 

There will be a service for Ken at the Innisfail Alliance Church, 4804 - 42 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta on Thursday, November 20, 2025, 1:30 PM.
