Volunteer Opportunity Boots on the Ground Alberta
Boots on the Ground Alberta is an organization that provides anonymous caring and compassionate peer support to retired and serving First Responders and Military throughout Alberta. They are actively recruiting volunteer call takers and our own Blake McWilliam is one of them. He brought this opportunity to our attention and Director Gus Gallucci had a good look at the organization.
Gus contacted Volunteer Recruitment Manager, Bonnie Mitchell, who advised that Boot on the Ground Alberta is in the process of recruiting volunteers to man the 24/7 telephone lines and the mobile outreach vehicle for peer support of all first responders, law enforcement and military personnel who are in need of assistance.
At this point they are looking for Calgary Police Veterans who would volunteer to assist with this process.
BOTG will provide the required training free of charge to anyone that is interested.
