Sadly, I must report that our friend and brother, Dennis Taylor, passed away in the morning of January 19, 2023. As you may recall, on January 11/23 a fan out was sent to the membership letting everyone know that Dennis was in hospice fighting his long battle with cancer. Dennis received over 50 emails from our members and each and every one was read to Dennis by his son, Rod Taylor. Rod wanted me to tell you that the impact of your kindness and great stories of days gone by, were a huge comfort not only to Dennis but the entire Taylor family as well. Rod and Dennis’s wife Mavis, asked me to pass on their heart felt gratitude.

Dennis was one of those Coppers who when you met him, you realized he was larger than life and a real “Stand Up Guy”. He shot from the hip and didn’t mess around with warm and fuzzy language. If you were a hard worker and did your job, he would always have your back and you would walk away with some valuable wisdom. Dennis was “Old School” in a good way that may be lacking today in policing.

If you would like to express condolences and words of support, please feel free to email Dennis’s son, Rod Taylor at:  rod.taylor@shaw.ca

At Dennis’s request, there will be a small private family service. An obituary will soon be available and when it comes out, I will fan that out to the membership.

It will have details of what charity Dennis would like to support in lieu of flowers.
