Passing of Frederick “Fred” Bakoway #1179

Our brother and friend, Fred Bakoway, passed away on Saturday April 5, 2025 at the age of 89. Fred joined the CPS in 1961 and retired in 1994 with the rank of Sergeant. 

Fred worked in several areas of CPS including the Identification Section, Detective Division, C2, C1, District E, Court Unit, District 1 and District 3. I remember Fred as a kind man who never hesitated to mentor a young copper. 
 
Fred was predeceased by his loving wife, Lillian in 2015. An obituary was published and if you wish to send condolences to Fred’s family you can do so there.
